Parenting-Prayer

Parenting is one of the most challenging tasks in life. But then it is one of the most blissful experiences one can go through.

I feel, one of the important habits we need to inculcate in our children is to help them get them into practical spirituality. From a child's perspective, one of the importnat aspects of same is daily prayers. We need to ensure we create an atmosphere at home where the child includes daily prayers in his routine. We need to ensure that becomes a habit at an early stage of the child's life.

A child who gets his basic spirituality correct, can only be a good citizen tomorrow. He would be able to handle the pressure of life better when he grows up. The faith, the descipline, the sheer process, etc will help him/her to handle the ups and downs of life better and thus be happy

I hope every child is blessed with the right foundation of practical spirituality at an early stage and he grows up full of love and happiness !

Saurav Ganguly

It is sad the current captain of Indian cricket team took the easy way out by keeping his former captain out of the one day team ! It is unfortunate one of the most successful one player and the most successful Indian captain, is being dumped like that. I have never been an ardent fan of Saurav, preferring the classy VVS, aggressive Sehwag and idealism personified Sachin. But I do not approve how we treat our old heroes, how we treat our sportsmen and how we treat a human being. Unfortunately, our team seem to have played a catalytic role in forging a strong bond among the opponents ! Woolmer, incidentally was one of the contenders for the post of coach. Greg, true to his style, managed to elbow him out of the reckoning. India's loss is definitely Pakistan's gain. A word of advise for Rahul, very soon he too would at a similar position, unwanted and untouchable !

LIFE

As I continues my journey of life, I pause to ask, 'what is purpose of this life' ? Is it to mere exist from dawn to dusk going through the routine or to 'live ' for sake of someone else.
Did I end the day trying to make a difference to the people around me ?
Did I pause to look around and be of any help to someone ? Indian scriptures say, as my Master reminds me, 'paropakarartham idam sareeram'( this body is to serve others )

I sign off my maiden posting to my new blog, with a reminder to myself of the need to life to its fullest !
