Sri Sathya Sai Center at Singapore

Got the opportunity to visit Sai Center @ Singapore, spend few 'ssilent' moments.
Hopefully will get to attend bhajans next time, Swami-willing!

As my cab reached the Center, looking at the structure, the cabbie said, "Oh this church?"
I was in a reflective mood & hence did not correct him. Wanted to tell him, it was not a Church. But then, it was also a Church. It was also a temple, mosque and everything synonymous.

I wondered what is my 'Sarvadharma-quotient' ?!!
We are the torch-bearers of the legacy of Swami's Sarva Dharma Principle.
Afterall, Swami said, 'Your life is My Message'.

Today's Sai Inspires from Radio Sai:

In the Geetha, Krishna said to Arjuna, “I am the witness; through Me, this conglomeration of the five elements called Universe, all these moveable and immoveable objects, are formed. Whatever the name or form worshiped, I am the Recipient; for I am the Goal of all. I am the only One. There is no Other. I Myself become the Worshipped, through My many Names and Forms. Not only this, I am the Fruit of all actions, the Bestower of the Fruit, and the Prompter. To realise Me is indeed liberation. He is the Jivanmuktha (liberated even while alive) who attains that realisation. Arjuna, if one yearns to become a Jivanmuktha, one has to eradicate fully the attachment to the body.”

Save Water

Sairam to all

Greetings from Singapore ! I am here to learn, once again :)

Though I had travelled up to Malaysia earlier, this was my first trip to S'pore. And truly, 'the world is mysterious for my intelligence to grow !' Truly Singapored !

One of the things they do so well is to maintain environment.

I feel our responsibility towards environment is as important a sadhana, like any other spiritual-activity.

We have seen how Swami ensures no water/electricity/energy wasted at all. He would switch on the fan in the interview room after all have assembled. He would always switch off the fan before He steps out . He would not waste anything, though everything is in Him

All the more reason not to waste water... To love environment, to be thankful to the trees around us.

If Swami's devotees across the globe became more conscious about environment, we can bring about a big change !

Let us sincerely love our environment & do all possible at our personal level to protect environment...

Ritualistic sadhana

Very often our sadhana becomes a routine or a mere ritual. We find so many people around us do it, along with ourselves. The moment it becomes 'mechanical', perhaps the very purpose of Sadhana is defeated.

The challenge is to have a high level of 'intent', every time we do any form of sadhana.
Better still, every moment
In case of latter, we will be more tuned towards the Divine.

So, the next time we set up the altar, light a lamp or incence, sit down to chant/pray/meditate and when we try to connect, a high level of intent, focus and love will help up connect better.

Spiritual practices must be done sincerely, with a full sense of responsibility. It must not be reduced to empty routine. Realize that to visualize the Lord as the resident in all and as responsible for everything is the hallmark of devotion.

IDay Greetings

Independence Day Greetings...

Only in the nation in which the goddess of Dharma (Righteousness) and Santhi (Peace) are adored will genuine prosperity and happiness exist. - Baba

Be Inspired

The One Life, the one consciousness that pervades the entire universe and takes temporary form to experience itself as a stone or a blade of grass, as an animal, a person, a star or a galaxy.

Can you sense deep within that you aleady know that ? Can you sense that you already are That ?

--- Eckhart Tolle

"Human beings, vegetables, or comic dust, we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible player."

Bakthi & Peace Live Concert Pt Jasrajji

Attended Bhakti & Peace live concert by Pt Jasrajji, yesterday.
·      Bhakti & Peace is a great idea for the series of events organized by Banyan Tree. All credit to Banyan tree for organizing the program so well. The team was very professional, at the same time sensitive. (Even the snacks at canteen tasted so great)
·      The venue, Shanmukhananda hall was packed. There was traffic chaos outside! Saturday evening, at Kolivada/Sion, near Shanmukhananda hall & for Panditji’s program, it was expected! Thankfully there was no stampede. People were very well behaved.
·      That stuck me actually. People were so very well behaved. Unlike any other program/get-together, people were genuinely classical-bhajan music lovers. Not a single cellphone rang during the program !! Very unusual, I thought. Hats off to the audience. At the end of the program, Panditji made a mention of the discipline of the audience. The ambience was truly spiritually electrifying!
·      Introductions & felicitations were very quick & brief. Thoughtful of the organisers. It was announced that audio/video recordings were not allowed. I did not see anyone using their cell phones at all.
·      Panditji started off with greeting the audience saying we were all embodiments of Divinity.  That set the stage for an enthralling three-hour session.
·      Got to see a Master at his best. What a genius Panditji is. He takes singing to a new level.
·      We saw the master at work – it was ‘serious’ work, but Panditji made it lively with an occasional smile, comment & jokes. He was in total control, as was expected of a great exponent.
·      He was supported by dedicated group of his students, true to the Guru-Shishya parampara.
·      Yesterday’s session was truly Divine.
·      When Pt ji sang, Krishna…. Radhe… Vasudeva… I actually looked around for some signs of Divine Manifestation. It was possible.  That was the energy level at the hall. I am sure Lord would have manifested in His ‘own’ way. Only I was not at a level of consciousness where I could see! (I was reminded of the opening chapter from the book ‘The Music Room’ by Nandita Devidayal)
·      Panditji and his group offered garlands of musical flowers to the Lord that made the evening truly blissful.
·      True” bhajan or devotional singing can bestow peace on the singer and listener – when we dedicate the song as a humble offering to God, without a trace of ego, with bhava, raga & thala. God does not look at our singing capability (or cacophony!) He looks beyond. That is the realm difficult to reach for any ordinary singer.
·      Om Namo Bhagvathe Vasudevaaya… was a fitting finale. That number went on for almost 30 minutes. Every one in the audience was enthralled. It was pure bliss…

‘JAI HO’… as the Master would say!

Happy Raksha Bandhan

Greetings to all sisters on the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan...

At school, 'all Indians are my brothers & sisters...' was part of the pledge @ assembly. Years later we understood the meaning of the pledge. We also observed, in a world that was increasingly less spiritual, this phrase was not being practised*. Perhaps it is time for us to re-discover the spirit of the pledge.

Vasudaiva Kutumbakam... was introduced much later in life. Very inspiring & truly divine...

Then, became a member of Sai Family... Among devotee-fraternity, we have truly felt the vibes of a perfect family.

Love All... Serve All.  This is one teaching I have struggled to implement in life. But, if possible then I have lived up to the essence of 'vasudaiva kutumbakam'. Easier said than done. But worth trying...

Perhaps it is time to 'Love All' in the true spirit of one big family...

Samastha Lokaha Sukhino Bhavanthu

*PS : Sai Inspires for today (2nd Aug) is on practise. Practice speaks louder than precept. - Baba But Swami talks about spiritual practice : "Practice the withdrawal of the mind from the senses; it will slowly and steadily develop the skills which will release you from bondage"
