Sri Sathya Sai Baba's 'WILL'

Courtesy: SSSBPT
The news of Bhagwan's will is in news. His 'will' is more than a mere legal document... Divine Will.

The TRP-hungry media picks up the news & reports with their own blurred-vision. They are blissfully ignorant of several facts, which are beyond normal human intelligence...

'The world is full of mysterious things, 'still' waiting for my intelligence to grow'... More so in matters which are SSpiritual. For, human intellect with all its conditioning & limitations, can not fathom matters related to the higher plane.

I feel sad for people who waste their precious time, effort, energy in matters trivial. As a child of 12, Baba relinquished and stepped out to serve mankind. He continue to do so, with increased magnitude, though He is physically not around. So many of His devotees can vouch how Baba continue to shower Grace, in fact a lot more!

But then the rationalists can not delve into those levels. They will continue to be blinded by maya and spread the blindness around. Media seem to play a catalytic role.

Let us not be disturbed by these trivial distractions.
Let us go within & experience divinity within, as Bhagwan always advised us.
Let us live by His ideals & values...
  • Love All, Serve All.
  • Help Ever, Hurt Never
  • Manava Seva is Madhava Seva
OUR LIFE IS HIS MESSAGE

Teacher's Day

Remembering all teachers who touched my life, with loving gratitude... God Bless.

Have been most fortunate to have Swami as my Sad-Guru...

Sri Sathya Sai Center at Singapore

Got the opportunity to visit Sai Center @ Singapore, spend few 'ssilent' moments.
Hopefully will get to attend bhajans next time, Swami-willing!

As my cab reached the Center, looking at the structure, the cabbie said, "Oh this church?"
I was in a reflective mood & hence did not correct him. Wanted to tell him, it was not a Church. But then, it was also a Church. It was also a temple, mosque and everything synonymous.

I wondered what is my 'Sarvadharma-quotient' ?!!
We are the torch-bearers of the legacy of Swami's Sarva Dharma Principle.
Afterall, Swami said, 'Your life is My Message'.

Today's Sai Inspires from Radio Sai:

In the Geetha, Krishna said to Arjuna, “I am the witness; through Me, this conglomeration of the five elements called Universe, all these moveable and immoveable objects, are formed. Whatever the name or form worshiped, I am the Recipient; for I am the Goal of all. I am the only One. There is no Other. I Myself become the Worshipped, through My many Names and Forms. Not only this, I am the Fruit of all actions, the Bestower of the Fruit, and the Prompter. To realise Me is indeed liberation. He is the Jivanmuktha (liberated even while alive) who attains that realisation. Arjuna, if one yearns to become a Jivanmuktha, one has to eradicate fully the attachment to the body.”
- Geetha Vahini, Ch 18.

Save Water

Sairam to all

Greetings from Singapore ! I am here to learn, once again :)

Though I had travelled up to Malaysia earlier, this was my first trip to S'pore. And truly, 'the world is mysterious for my intelligence to grow !' Truly Singapored !

One of the things they do so well is to maintain environment.

I feel our responsibility towards environment is as important a sadhana, like any other spiritual-activity.

We have seen how Swami ensures no water/electricity/energy wasted at all. He would switch on the fan in the interview room after all have assembled. He would always switch off the fan before He steps out . He would not waste anything, though everything is in Him

All the more reason not to waste water... To love environment, to be thankful to the trees around us.

If Swami's devotees across the globe became more conscious about environment, we can bring about a big change !

Let us sincerely love our environment & do all possible at our personal level to protect environment...

Ritualistic sadhana

Very often our sadhana becomes a routine or a mere ritual. We find so many people around us do it, along with ourselves. The moment it becomes 'mechanical', perhaps the very purpose of Sadhana is defeated.

The challenge is to have a high level of 'intent', every time we do any form of sadhana.
Better still, every moment
In case of latter, we will be more tuned towards the Divine.

So, the next time we set up the altar, light a lamp or incence, sit down to chant/pray/meditate and when we try to connect, a high level of intent, focus and love will help up connect better.

Spiritual practices must be done sincerely, with a full sense of responsibility. It must not be reduced to empty routine. Realize that to visualize the Lord as the resident in all and as responsible for everything is the hallmark of devotion.

Be Inspired

The One Life, the one consciousness that pervades the entire universe and takes temporary form to experience itself as a stone or a blade of grass, as an animal, a person, a star or a galaxy.

Can you sense deep within that you aleady know that ? Can you sense that you already are That ?

--- Eckhart Tolle

"Human beings, vegetables, or comic dust, we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible player."

Bakthi & Peace Live Concert Pt Jasrajji

Attended Bhakti & Peace live concert by Pt Jasrajji, yesterday.
·      Bhakti & Peace is a great idea for the series of events organized by Banyan Tree. All credit to Banyan tree for organizing the program so well. The team was very professional, at the same time sensitive. (Even the snacks at canteen tasted so great)
·      The venue, Shanmukhananda hall was packed. There was traffic chaos outside! Saturday evening, at Kolivada/Sion, near Shanmukhananda hall & for Panditji’s program, it was expected! Thankfully there was no stampede. People were very well behaved.
·      That stuck me actually. People were so very well behaved. Unlike any other program/get-together, people were genuinely classical-bhajan music lovers. Not a single cellphone rang during the program !! Very unusual, I thought. Hats off to the audience. At the end of the program, Panditji made a mention of the discipline of the audience. The ambience was truly spiritually electrifying!
·      Introductions & felicitations were very quick & brief. Thoughtful of the organisers. It was announced that audio/video recordings were not allowed. I did not see anyone using their cell phones at all.
·      Panditji started off with greeting the audience saying we were all embodiments of Divinity.  That set the stage for an enthralling three-hour session.
·      Got to see a Master at his best. What a genius Panditji is. He takes singing to a new level.
·      We saw the master at work – it was ‘serious’ work, but Panditji made it lively with an occasional smile, comment & jokes. He was in total control, as was expected of a great exponent.
·      He was supported by dedicated group of his students, true to the Guru-Shishya parampara.
·      Yesterday’s session was truly Divine.
·      When Pt ji sang, Krishna…. Radhe… Vasudeva… I actually looked around for some signs of Divine Manifestation. It was possible.  That was the energy level at the hall. I am sure Lord would have manifested in His ‘own’ way. Only I was not at a level of consciousness where I could see! (I was reminded of the opening chapter from the book ‘The Music Room’ by Nandita Devidayal)
·      Panditji and his group offered garlands of musical flowers to the Lord that made the evening truly blissful.
·      True” bhajan or devotional singing can bestow peace on the singer and listener – when we dedicate the song as a humble offering to God, without a trace of ego, with bhava, raga & thala. God does not look at our singing capability (or cacophony!) He looks beyond. That is the realm difficult to reach for any ordinary singer.
·      Om Namo Bhagvathe Vasudevaaya… was a fitting finale. That number went on for almost 30 minutes. Every one in the audience was enthralled. It was pure bliss…

‘JAI HO’… as the Master would say!

Happy Raksha Bandhan

Greetings to all sisters on the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan...

At school, 'all Indians are my brothers & sisters...' was part of the pledge @ assembly. Years later we understood the meaning of the pledge. We also observed, in a world that was increasingly less spiritual, this phrase was not being practised*. Perhaps it is time for us to re-discover the spirit of the pledge.

Vasudaiva Kutumbakam... was introduced much later in life. Very inspiring & truly divine...

Then, became a member of Sai Family... Among devotee-fraternity, we have truly felt the vibes of a perfect family.

Love All... Serve All.  This is one teaching I have struggled to implement in life. But, if possible then I have lived up to the essence of 'vasudaiva kutumbakam'. Easier said than done. But worth trying...

Perhaps it is time to 'Love All' in the true spirit of one big family...

Samastha Lokaha Sukhino Bhavanthu

*PS : Sai Inspires for today (2nd Aug) is on practise. Practice speaks louder than precept. - Baba But Swami talks about spiritual practice : "Practice the withdrawal of the mind from the senses; it will slowly and steadily develop the skills which will release you from bondage"

Random Notes from PSN

Reached Parthi Saturday, late afternoon. Weather was a lot better this time, but only over-cast sky.
  • But, it kept drizzling on Sunday. It was almost like being in Kodai !
Hills around the region are seeing some digging - seemingly to collect rain water & make it more green. Great initiative. The region is a lot greener that it used to be 20 years back. But, we all should collectively make it greener & cleaner ( lot of scope to clean up too, esp in the village, outside Ashram)

But, rains are still not enough. Lands have been ploughed. Farmers seem to be waiting for more rains, so that they can get on with their agri-related activities. Let us pray for more rains....
  • BTW, prayers have worked in Blore. City got torrential rains on Sunday !

Had a quick south-Indian-meals at Sai Towers
  • Like Masala Dosa, SI-Meals also deserve to be part of list top-10 food to eat, before you die !
Delayed lunch meant, late for dinner. So, took a soup & light food at Hanuman cafe.
  • These are two places serving devotees with hygeinic, delicious and reasonably-priced food. Like the ambience & service also.
  • Afterall we are at PSN not for food-for-body, but for nourishment of the soul.
Ran into a devotee from our region, who very kindly invited me to his place. Last year, around same time, all roads led to his flat - thanks to vibhuti materialisation at his place.
  • This year there was an encore of the Divine Grace ! Vibhuti was flowing out of photos, Swami-robe, et al !!!
  • But, this time around, devotees seem to be blissfully unaware of the miracle !
  • Sunday afternoon I went over, spent sometime silently praying at the flat.
Bhajans at Parthi are very, very special. Nothing musically-comparable to that. With the weather so nice, ambience full of devotion.... truly Divine.

Spent just one day at Parthi... but such a wonderful experience!

Love to all ! Samastha Loka Sukhino Bhavanthu!

Bangalore finally get some showers

Reached Blore Wednesday-evening.
Was shocked to see the landscape - 'driest' ever !!
This garden-city would usually get summer-showers in May and it would be at its 'greenest' by July !

What have we done to this beautiful city ??!! Let us not shrug off our responsibility. We have converted the garden-city to a concrete city :(
Each one of us need to take responsibility for it. My love for the city... I looked up several times & actually prayed ... for showers..

Wondered, how many busy-Bangaloreans were actually taking few minutes to pray... Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavanthu.

Thursday evening... at the end of my assignment, when I stepped out into the open, I was delighted to see clouds forming... I prayed again... would have joined multitudes in & around Blore to pray for rains.

Blissful bhajans at B T... most nostalgic and very, very SSpiritual. At the end of the session, in the silent-sitting, I was disturbed by the noise outside. The sound of rains !!!!  Yes, it rained last evening. I joked to a friend, 'see, I have got some rains from amchi Mumbai' !!

The temperatures have dropped and it was good, old Blore. But, not clean & green, as it used to be.

But this evening, Friday, it rained again.
Rain-Gods are doing their bit.
Let us save our environment, re-discover the green Blore... Come on, Bangaloreans !

One advice for lasting bliss

Swami has given so many simple, but very powerful messages.

  • Love All, Serve All
  • Help Ever, Hurt Never
  • Hands that serve...
  • Power of Namasmaran
  • Importance of veda-chanting
  • 9 Point code
  • etc....

But, One great message we should inculcate, every moment..... Bliss guaranteed.

I shall tell you just one thing, which is the essence of all noble scriptures. I want you to resolve to follow this, every single day - “Do not seek to find fault in others. Give up maligning and injuring others in thought, word and deed. Do not scandalize anyone; do not feel envy or malice. Be always sweet in temperament; use soft and sweet words. Fill your conversations with devotion and humility.” Live in Love, for love, with love. Then the Lord, who is Himself Divine Love personified, will grant you all that you need, without you asking for anything. He knows. He is the Mother who does not wait to hear the moan of the child to feed it. He anticipates every need and rushes to you with help that you must have in every occasion
